About Us

Not Just Any Marketplace

The Margaret River Trading Co is a local online multi-store marketplace offering a low-risk e-commerce (or eco-mmerce) presence for locally-focussed artisans, makers and producers in the Southern Regions (The Margaret River Region, the South West and the Great Southern); providing a more level playing field of local products, as opposed to competing on a marketplace with products from all over the world, often mass-produced.

What business we’re really in

But we’re really a technology business focussed on marketing, advertising and promotion of the Southern Regions local business and informing the wider community. We champion small busineses owners that are 50%+ locally owned, located in our Regions that produce locally with locally-sourced materials and ingredients – where available. And we educate community and cusotmers on the many benefits of shopping local – shopping where your heart is (where you live) and where you visit to support living a more sustainable life.

Our Why

We exist to help boost the local economy, not take from it. We’re keen to turn that frown from more buying online, right upside down. We’re not e-commerce as you know it, but ec0-mmerce. That little difference is part of our biggest reason for being – creating a more sustainable world for all of our children.

Lofty, yes, but we work to that by immersing our business into the local economy for all to benefit as only buying local can. We fully support local and are dedicated to sharing its benefits. We are here if needed, and are proud to be part of like-minded locally-focussed businesses that help create a community focussed on thriving without it costing us, or the Earth.
